SMARTwheel distracted Driver

The SMARTwheel™ is the brainchild of six young inventors from Londonderry, New Hampshire, the Inventioneers. We were determined to save lives on our nation’s highways and found that the main driver distractions cause the driver to take one or both hands off the wheel. Our SMARTwheel™ not only alerts the driver when these unsafe hand positions are detected, it can also track these incidents. SMART stands for Safe Motorist Alert for Reducing Texting, Tweeting, Typing, Touchscreens, Takeout and Touch-up.

The SMARTwheel™ is the only solution that provides instant correction to the distracted driver. The SMARTwheel™ maps the driver’s hand position on the wheel with strategically placed integrated sensors. The SMARTwheel™ tracks the data, alerts the driver when unsafe hand position is detected to refocus drivers’ attention on the road, and can send data in real time to parents, employers or even law enforcement.

The SMARTwheel is a unique aftermarket patent pending product that installs easily on your car’s steering wheel. The SMARTwheel technology will also be licensed for integration into new car steering wheels.
